Hear that? That's the sound of your feet weeping for joy because sneakers are poised to replace every pair of high heels in your closet. Yes, we’re talking about how to style sneakers for street style. Whether you're literally walking or running around or driving, you want to look good and yet be comfortable as well. But as of late, and in particular with the athleisure trend going strong, we're now styling sneakers for many outfits:  dressed up, dressed down, for errands, to work where they’re changed to pumps in the office, or for the weekend.

So what are some tips for styling sneakers? Firstly, it is important to understand that different fabrics with sneakers have different purposes. Fabric sneakers are better in spring and summer as they let your feet breathe. A leather pair is more practical throughout autumn and winter as they're much more waterproof. Low top sneakers are your average casual shoe but also have some practical uses. These types of sneakers should ideally be worn with skinny fit jeans and a casual shirt or blouse. High top sneakers bring a bit more street style to your chosen outfit. Why not rock up your style and give off a bit of attitude with a leather jacket or black leather skirt. For a weekend brunch, you could pair sneakers with a cute little dress or a maxi dress. Be sure to look for sneakers that hit below the ankle so you can actually see your ankle.

Sneakers no longer scream commuter shoes like they did decades ago. In fact, you're never going to want to take them off. Look for sneakers that definitely stands out from the crowd with unexpected element like platform or metallic leather. There are tons of ways to have fun with sneakers and pairing them with everything you have in your closet depending on the occasion or the event.
